A 5-day, hands-on programme blending lectures, tutorials and real-world challenges in data, modelling, trustworthiness and communication.
Hosted by the MeDiTwin and AI4PEX projects, this in-person, hands-on winter school brings together leading experts and early-career researchers to explore how AI and machine learning can help monitor, model, forecast and assess impacts related to floods, wildfires, droughts and other climate extremes.
Participants will work across four key pillars:
Data (integration and harmonisation of diverse sources)
Modelling (monitoring, forecasting and impact assessment)
Trustworthiness (explainability, causality, robustness and uncertainty)
Communication (bridging science and decision-making)
